Elf on the Shelf First Night

Alright everyone- I did it! I joined in the elf on the shelf craze! This will be the first year for my children, 6 and 8, and I am so excited!  I scoped out all of the stores and finally decided Amazon was best especially with their Prime 2 day shipping - Elf on the Shelf.
I researched all over their website too - http://elfontheshelf.com/

I got some great ideas and even found out that you can specially invite your elf to visit for your childs birthday and Halloween. How cool is that? I know right! What I could not find was how to kickstart the whole thing for our first time. How sad I felt. I even went and checked all over their facebook page - Elf Facebook

I finally posted on my page asking for insight from other parents who have experience. I was grateful that a handful of my friends are very active with their elves and told me how they kickstarted their first year. It was definitely a big help! From them I spent time making a letter from Santa summarizing the book on no touching the elf and its magic. I then set up the letter, very cute book, and our new elf up.

With that being said I am having to make sure that I as a parent follow the rules as well. I made sure I chose an area where little Elf will be seen by the kids and then read their letter, book, and name him. Right?! If only it were that easy! I chose our kitchen bar where I had set up some of our Christmas decorations.

I thought I did so good and was very proud of myself. Sadly Mr. Elf is still sitting in the same spot has yet to be noticed. Haha I am hoping tomorrow he will be seen so we can really get this show on the road and start a new family tradition.

Here is to hoping eyes are open and aware tomorrow!

Happy Fingers Cut Resistant Gloves

Do you work around shop objects? I received Happy Fingers Gloves complimentary for testing purposes. Look how cute they are!

I will say this Yes they certainly are cut resistant I tried the sharpest knives we have, scissors, and had my cat attack them. The downfall- you literally cannot feel anything with them on. It is as if your hands are numb so makes it hard to work with. It would be great for animal training cuz them teeth and claws will not break through haha.

That is if the company sells them again. It looks like right after I received these gloves and was scheduled to do a giveaway they closed shop. I am sorry guys I will work on trying to find some giveaways soon.

Daydream Travel Pillow!

Looking at the holidays coming up there will be a lot of traveling and gift giving. I received this daydream travel pillow complimentary for testing. I thought it would be great for traveling in the car as some of our family lives over an hour away and a lot of them in other states causing a long drive. When I received the pillow in the mail I thought it was so cute in its little travel bag that is suede just like the pillow! The blue is not done any justice in the pictures it is just very beautiful.

Once I opened the pillow I was so excited that it is self pump; especially since I am at home sick today with a very bad cold and bloody nose. You just press the button on the pillow and it self pumps. The suede on it feels so good against the skin. the only thing I do not like is it is very small so I am not sure how the comfort level will feel for most people. It felt really good to be able to sit up in bed for a little bit with the pillow on. I can definitely use this for traveling and at work when my neck hurts to relax.

You can purchase yours here -----Amazon link

I hope you enjoy your pillow!

Great Gift Idea!

With the Holiday season upon us it is time to search out gifts for those you love. I received this product complimentary for testing purposes. I expected cheap cheap cheap when I seen it; however, I was pretty surprised when I opened it up. It is actually great quality! The net will definitely withstand my two boys and doesn't slide around when they reach in and out of it. It also comes with 2 hangers for loofahs or rags whichever your choice is. Lastly, it came with two funny bath toys that are too cute. The penguin does not squeak, but the duck squeaks very loudly. This is a great gift to provide someone; especially if you fill the net with soaps.
Purchase here - Amazon.com link
Here is a picture of the cute plastic packaging it comes in.
Here is my set up in my boys bathroom.

I hope you enjoy yours and have fun making gift bags for family and friends.

Valdler Retro Wool Nylon Hat Feather Flower Fascinator With Net Yarn Flowers

It is so nice to be able to dress up and have fun even as an adult. I love having items to play with at home and still be able to use at work functions. Check out this awesome Valdler hat!

Of course I couldn't be the only one in the picture! Ms. Bellatrix decided to show herself and really was jealous of the attention.

I have to say though that this hat is lightweight and I love how it has a band I can put underneath my hair as well as wig clips on both sides to clip in hair.

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above in exchange for review from Giveaway Service website. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Reference ID: pm6f3dff94a35084a6326dd3e82d0e10ab

Turkey Disguise Project - Where's Waldo

I have heard a lot of friends and co-workers talking about disguising a turkey for their kids class. My oldest son came home with the same project. I asked him what do you want to disguise your turkey as and he said "Where's Waldo!". The disguise project began!
The first thing we did is googled some printable coloring pages. To size it right we held up our turkey to the computer screen to make sure the sizes were perfect.

While he cut them out to be paper glued on I went to the art closet and got a red and white pipe cleaners to twist together, a red pom pom for his hat, and two googly eyes.

We then glued the back of the cutouts and stuck them to the turkey. Next we glued the pom pom to his hat, cut the pipe cleaners to make a scarf, added googly eyes, and then colored the stripes on his shirt and feathers. Once that was done we colored his shorts, beak, head, and feet.
The last step was gluing the cane on to the turkey. Now we have a Where's Waldo costume on a turkey! I cannot wait to see pictures of your turkey disguises! Good Luck!!

Snowman Family Project

We all know how working can get you tired and mentally worn out. Here is a family project to do for fun and you can even bring it to work and set it on your desk to remember the fun you had making them!
What you will need: Mens socks, twine, super glue, a bag of rice, googly eyes, pipe cleaner, pompoms, and paint.

Step one is to cut your sock so you have the body and the hat.

Step two is to fill your body with rice.

Step three is to tie off the top of the body and then form the head and tie it; you may want to add a dab of superglue to the inside of the tie to seal it.

To keep the head on steady I used superglue around the entire head.
Step four is time for the hat. Turn it inside out and tie the inside and add superglue in the middle to seal it. Flip it right side out and superglue a pompom of choice on top.

Step five is time to place the hat on the snowman. You can roll it, fold it, place it as you like. I added a little superglue in the front to hold it in place; however, my kids didn't want to so they can play and change their hat as wanted.
Step six you pick out your pipecleaner, googly eyes, and nose to place them on your snowman. I superglued my pipecleaner; however, again my kids didn't want to so they can change theirs out.
Step seven is where you will glue the pom poms on your snowman belly.
Step eight paint the mouth and arms or anything you would like on your snowman.

Congratulations you now have a snowman party!
I cannot wait to see your snowman pictures! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
